Debra joined Hill Dickinson in April 2023 from Shoosmiths, where she was a partner and co-head of the firm’s Manchester office. She specialises in real estate finance and regularly advises lenders and borrowers based in the UK, the Channel Islands and Gibraltar. She has over 16 years’ experience acting for banks and institutional lenders, debt funds and borrowers, including acting for all of the main clearing banks plus a number of challenger banks and debt funds.

In recent years she has worked on a number of high value transactions including advising on a £500 million loan to the government of Gibraltar and advising a five-bank lending syndicate on a £480 million Green and SLL investment and development facility loan to Bruntwood SciTech. Debra is also the Chair of Northern Investment Property Forum and on the Northern board of LandAid.

Debra has a first-class honours degree in Sports Science and Psychology from University of Wales, Bangor and obtained a commendation in both her GPDL and LPC from College of Law, Chester.
