Bhayani: Endorsement of our success

Make UK, the representative voice of UK manufacturing, has expanded its employment law and HR services by acquiring a Sheffield-based law firm.

What was once called the Engineering Employers’ Federation has added Bhayani Law to its portfolio supporting 20,000 companies of all sizes in the engineering, manufacturing, technology and wider industrial sectors.

Founded by managing director Jay Bhayani in 2014, the firm provides both employment law and HR services, offering a fixed-fee HR support package called Watertight, the cost of which ranges from £99 a month to £279, depending on the level of service.

It has four fee-earners in addition to Ms Bhayani and three HR advisors, along with three other staff. It will retain its name but is now “powered by Make UK”.

In a statement, Make UK said the acquisition “forms part of an ongoing strategy to strengthen and grow Make UK’s employment law service regionally throughout the UK and to increase our customer base by acquiring one of the most exciting and dynamic specialist firms in the UK”.

Bhayani Law, meanwhile, will have access “to a wide range of support and resources available from Make UK to grow their HR and employment law business to even more effectively support the business community in the South Yorkshire region”.

Stephen Phipson, chief executive of Make UK said: “Our leading employment law service is already best in class and is a critical part of our offering to manufacturers and other businesses of all sizes. This will help us broaden our reach and appeal.”

Ms Bhayani added: “I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved in the 10 years since the set-up of Bhayani Law. To become part of Make UK is a heartwarming endorsement of our success.

“The collaboration will bring together our mutual strengths, allow more opportunities for my team, greater resources for our clients and enable us to achieve our growth ambitions.”
