Coal and non-coal risks now assessed in Terrafirma’s CON29M
Monday, 20 September 2021Have you ever wondered what the ‘M’ in ‘CON29M’ stands for? If you said mining, you’d be right. However, you’d be forgiven for being confused as until now, the CON29M report has only covered mining assessment from a single mineral – coal. Ground risk specialists Terrafirma, who provide mining and natural ground hazard reports to conveyancers, is introducing an exciting update by adding a non-coal section to their CON29M for the first time (launching 18th October).

Climate change concerns for coastal properties in landslide prone areas
Wednesday, 4 August 2021A major 40 m landslide occurred at Nefyn Bay in North Wales earlier this year sparking concern for nearby residents and business owners. The area is prone to regular small-scale cliff collapses due to the superficial deposits of clays and silts making up Nefyn Bay which are easily eroded by the sea. More concerning, however, are the nine large landslides have been reported within a few miles of this location since records began.

The pitfalls of living with historic mining risk
