Law Society: low public awareness of QualitySolicitors supports ad campaign

Row over Holden’s comments on solicitors prompts ITV “clarification”
Monday, 8 August 2011A chorus of complaints about comments made on ITV’s This Morning by Amanda Holden when promoting QualitySolicitors (QS) led to a clarification being broadcast on Friday. Solicitors were particularly incensed by what they saw as an implication that non-QS firms would rip consumers off.

Why does everyone hate QualitySolicitors?

And I know a lot of you are now reading because QualitySolicitors (QS) generates more response than pretty much any story going at the moment. In the wake of a light-hearted tweet I posted yesterday while on holiday in Cornwall about my first ever sighting of a QS branded office – QualitySolicitors Nalders in Newquay – I received a few grumbles about the amount of coverage Legal Futures is giving to QS. It led me to wonder why QS generates so much emotion in the profession.

QualitySolicitors goes live in WHSmith with national TV endorsement
Monday, 1 August 2011QualitySolicitors’ (QS) deal to run ‘Legal Access Points’ (LAPs) within WHSmith stores was launched on Friday with celebrity fanfare and national TV coverage. Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden unveiled the first of an eventual 500 nationwide LAPs at Westfield shopping centre in west London, before a crowd of onlookers and autograph hunters.

QualitySolicitors to be in 1,000 locations by end of year as Holt warns the future is brands
Thursday, 19 May 2011QualitySolicitors aims to be in nearly 1,000 locations across England and Wales by the end of the year as a result of expansion and its tie-up with WH Smith, chief executive Craig Holt has said. He revealed that the retailer is receiving a flat rental fee and no referral fees.

QS set to eject member as Hudson questions its appropriation of “quality” term
Tuesday, 12 April 2011QualitySolicitors is preparing to eject a member firm for failing to meet the network’s quality standards, its chief operating officer told the Legal Futures Conference yesterday. Law Society chief executive Des Hudson also questioned QS’s use of the word “quality” in the brand.
