Meanwhile, a survey of consumers has highlighted dissatisfaction with the PI claims system, and leading legal expenses insurer DAS has hit back at yesterday’s report on BTE insurance.

Bott: “dumbed down” ABSs can be quick and wrong, lawyers can be quick and right
Friday, 15 April 2011New “dumbed-down” entrants to the personal injury market will be “quick and wrong”, whereas lawyers can be “quick and right”, the new president of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers has claimed. David Bott said claimants might prefer to deal with a “new breed of dumbed-down, legal ‘light’ adviser” – at least at first.

Litigation reforms mean less work but better cash flow for lawyers, government predicts
Wednesday, 30 March 2011Law firms face a reduction in work as a result of the latest reforms to civil litigation, government documents have predicted. Impact assessments accompanying yesterday’s consultation on reform of the county courts say they will lead to “reduced levels of legal services business”.

Govt to implement Jackson and reform county court – but “solicitors will adapt”

Extending PI claims process by next April cannot be done, says portal chief

MPs tell insurers to improve referral fee transparency or face government action
