Here come the brands: AA and Saga launch legal websites aimed at Middle England
Monday, 1 November 2010The AA and Saga have today launched legal services websites targeted at Middle England as pressure on high street solicitors cranks up. Both companies – which are owned by the same private equity businesses – have tied up with volume law firm Cogent Law to offer services sitting behind an online document-assembly platform provided by legal IT company Epoq Legal.

Face-to-face legal advice via the Internet as law firm buys Capita’s helpline
Tuesday, 7 September 2010West Midlands law firm Forum Law is planning to give legal advice over the Internet after buying Capita Assistance’s legal helpline business. Called Legal Assistance Direct (LAD), the service already had contracts to provide legal advice to over five million client customers of various institutions. It currently receives around 35-40,000 calls a year.

Poll points to push for online legal services
Monday, 12 April 2010A majority of consumers expect good law firms to offer their services online in the next couple of years, a survey of over 2,000 people has shown. It also showed that nearly half of consumers would be more likely to choose a firm that offered online access.
