The move is an early example of litigation specialists positioning themselves for a post-Jackson, post-recoverability of costs landscape.

Litigation reforms mean less work but better cash flow for lawyers, government predicts

Govt to implement Jackson and reform county court – but “solicitors will adapt”

Extending PI claims process by next April cannot be done, says portal chief

Strong public opposition to Jackson reforms, poll reveals
Monday, 7 March 2011There is widespread public opposition to the government’s civil funding reforms, according to a survey seen exclusively by Legal Futures. The survey of more than 2,000 people by pollster Populus found that four in five (82%) people think that the current ‘no win, no fee’ system is fair.

Ombudsman highlights risk of rising complaints following Jackson reforms
Tuesday, 22 February 2011Implementation of the Jackson reforms could have an impact on the number of complaints against solicitors, the Legal Ombudsman has told the government. It said ending recoverability could cause consumers “to take more of an interest in their lawyers’ fees”.
