Solicitor went bankrupt to “prove dishonesty claim” against opposing law firm
Monday, 14 July 2014The High Court has dismissed an appeal against a disciplinary sanction imposed on a solicitor who refused to pay a wasted costs order, and then went bankrupt as “the only way in which he could secure evidence to support his assertions of dishonesty” against a law firm and its barrister.

High Court strikes out barrister’s claim for compensation from BSB
Friday, 9 May 2014A pioneering barrister who overturned a disciplinary tribunal ruling that she had conducted litigation in breach of the Bar’s then code of conduct, has lost her claim for compensation against the Bar Standards Board.
