Riverview goes international with NY office and direct access pitch to American law firms and GCs

Run that past me one more time
Friday, 18 May 2012If ever there was a “what the…?” moment since setting up Legal Futures, it was the news that the Stobart Group is entering the legal services market. The story launched many an attempt at humour on Twitter, but I will gladly put them to one side. One can see some challenges for this venture, not least that while Eddie Stobart is a well-known brand, especially among motorway travellers, it is not known for delivering any services, let alone professional ones, to consumers.

Bar Council chief urges barristers to embrace direct instructions from the public

Recession encourages in-house lawyers to instruct “business minded” Bar directly
Friday, 10 December 2010The recession has encouraged in-house lawyers to make more use of what they see as a new, business-minded Bar by instructing them directly, research has revealed. The report, commissioned by Hardwicke Chambers and conducted by Legal Futures Associate Jures, found greater expertise and better value for money than solicitors were also factors.
