ARAG acquires DAS operations in Canada and continues to pursue its international expansion strategy. The German ARAG Group, a global leader in legal expenses insurance (LEI) and currently active in 19 countries, has acquired DAS Legal Protection Inc. in Canada which is part of the Munich Re / ERGO Group.

Leading legal expenses and assistance provider ARAG has appointed Duncan Ogilvie to head up the company’s pivotal product development function, following the death of Lesley Attu, last year.

Delays in the criminal and civil courts have been widely publicised, but the employment tribunal system is facing very similar pressures. The backlog of claims has been growing steadily since 2015 and totalled more than 45,000 cases at the end of August.
