The end for “licensed conveyancers”? CLC seeks new name as it bids for ABSs’ business

It plans to use its position as an ABS licensing authority to strengthen and grow its “regulated community”.

Clients of ABSs providing financial services advice exposed by Legal Services Act hole

Will the world reject ABSs? Government to monitor “international acceptance”

Stockbroker values magic circle at £6.7bn as it makes economic case for law firm flotation
Monday, 16 May 2011The magic circle firms could be worth £6.7bn if they went public – equivalent to £3.9m for each partner – the first stockbroker assessment of the viability of law firm listing has estimated. An analyst note from Peel Hunt LLP said there is “a real economic case” to be made for public market listing.
