Slater & Gordon clears final hurdle as FCA approves Quindell acquisiton
Friday, 22 May 2015Slater & Gordon’s £637m acquisition of Quindell’s professional services division has cleared its final hurdle after regulatory approval was granted by the Financial Conduct Authority. The transaction is now unconditional and on track for completion “shortly”.

SRA finally taken off report over way it handles ABS applications

NewLaw vendors receive final £5m pay-out for sale to Redde plc

Second time lucky for top accountants after “hell” of dealing with SRA over ABS bid

Pioneering ABS seeing benefits of employee ownership

Unnecessary ABS approval rules to be scrapped in latest regulation bonfire
Friday, 17 April 2015The rule which requires the Solicitors Regulation Authority to approve the individuals who own companies that in turn own alternative business structures is set to be scrapped. The requirement for firms to keep a record of non-material breaches of the SRA Handbook may also go.

Cahill Gordon & Reindel is first US firm to set up an ABS (really)

New council ABS targets health sector as it looks to compete with private practice
