HBJ Gateley Wareing’s new Manchester office to move immediately to LawSoft

Manchester: HBJ Gateley Wareing now has an office in every major UK commercial centre

Birmingham-based HBJ Gateley Wareing has moved quickly to integrate its new Manchester operation into its network by migrating the office to its LawSoft practice management system by the end of September.

The firm has taken on the corporate and commercial teams of the former Halliwells’ Manchester office. The move brings over 200 new staff, including 40 partners, to the national law firm, bringing total staff numbers to more than 750.

HBJ Gateley Wareing utilises LawSoft, from Legal Futures Associate Pilgrim Systems, and to aid speedy integration between the new Manchester office and the rest of the business, Pilgrim and the firm are working on a project to enable the Manchester office to utilise LawSoft from 28 September.

HBJ Gateley Wareing now has eight offices across the UK and Dubai. With the Manchester move, the firm has a major presence in each of the principal commercial centres of the UK.

Martyn Finnigan, HBJ Gateley Wareing’s finance director, said: “We are delighted to welcome the former Halliwells corporate and commercial teams in Manchester into our firm and believe that they will be a significant addition to HBJ Gateley Wareing and its brand.

“It makes good business sense for us to all utilise the same IT systems, so we are working together with Pilgrim to ensure our new colleagues can utilise LawSoft quickly. Pilgrim are taking an efficient and sympathetic approach to this and we are grateful for their speedy response.”

Colin Kennedy, Pilgrim’s chief operating officer, added: “We are very aware that change can come quickly and our clients sometimes need the fast turnaround of a major project. We are delighted to be working with HBJ Gateley Wareing to integrate their new Manchester staff and envisage they will soon appreciate the comprehensive, sophisticated features of LawSoft and its user-friendly interface.”
