PI Futures: Making personal injury pay
September 2015: Making personal injury pay Wherever you sit in the claimant market, it is a time of uncertainty and change. In that respect, nothing has changed since our first PI Futures back in 2013. But the election of a Conservative government seems to mean no let-up on reform, be it clinical negligence gees, deafness cases, MedCo or the new ‘fundamental dishonesty’ rule. Most expect the small claims limit to rear its head again sooner or later. Delegates at this year’s PI Futures not only explored new structures and operators, but how to keep personal injury a profitable line of work, while ensuring access to justice for injured people. See the full list of legal events on the main legal futures event page. Speakers: Martin Heskins, Law Society’s Director Representative for MedCo Michael Jefferies, Managing Director, Jefferies Solicitors Dr David Pearce, Director, Qualitas Medical Services and the Association of Direct Medical Experts Dr Bippon Vinayak, Chairman and CEO, Doctors Chambers Jonathan Wheeler, President, Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) Stephen Webber, Chairman, Society of Clinical Injury Lawyers David Pipkin, Underwriting Director, Temple Legal Protection Lesley Graves, Managing Director, Citadel Law Phil Hodgkinson, CEO, Pure Legal Costs Consultants Andrew Ritchie QC, Managing Director, PIcARBS Tony Rupa, Executive Board Member, Unionline; Head of Legal Services, Communication Workers Union
