Mena Ruparel, co-author of our forthcoming book So You Think You’re an Ethical Solicitor: The new SRA standradsa and regulations in action, has launched a new podcast – Unethical Stories – in which she speaks to lawyers about daily ethical decision-making in practice.
In her words she wants guests to
“spill the beans on the worst ethical decisions made by other solicitors and what they would have done differently. We find out how lawyers learn to make ethical decisions, whether there is a better way, and hear advice from guests for other lawyers.”
The first episode is now live where she speaks to Karen Dovaston, a family lawyer, about how her own ethical experiences. You can listen to it here.
You can subscribe to the podcast on acast, Spotify and Soundcloud or, better still, via our dedicated book website – ethcialsolicitor.co.uk.
The book itself will be published in April 2020 and is an updated and renamed from the original book called How to Be An Ethical Solicitor. The new edition reflects the changes made by the implementation of the new SRA regime in November 2019 and crucially is bolstered by a new chapter on the ethics of using lawtech in your practice, a minefield especially when using AI to help decision-making.
Anyone who pre-orders the book will qualify for an accompanying free digital edition – the digital edition would cost £30 when bought separately once the book is published. You can order now on bathpublishing.com or by calling us on 01225 577810 and the digital edition will be emailed to you as soon as it is ready.
