Tikit, part of BT Group and leading provider of technology solutions for law and professional services firms will join thousands of legal professionals today in an aid to raise money.
This May will see the undertaking of the biggest legal walk in town. The London Legal Walk will see more than 12,000 legal professionals take to the streets of London to raise awareness of the need for access to justice, particularly for those that are more vulnerable. As well as raising awareness, the ultimate objective of the walk is to raise money for agencies and organisations that provide free legal advice to those in society that ordinarily would not be able to access these services.
The London Legal Support Trust works to support law centres and legal advice agencies in London and the South East by providing them with grant funding alongside other forms of support. They do this by holding large fundraising events, most notably the London Legal Walk, and then delivering the funds raised to the agencies where they are most needed through grant rounds. The trust also offer their extensive knowledge and experience of the sector to help these agencies to become more sustainable and help to partner them with law firms and chambers who want to help them ensure that the law is fair.
Tikit who have a strong presence in the legal market and are known for providing technology which supports law firm’s legal aid functions, will be joining the walk in force. The Tikit team who will be making the 10k journey said of the walk
‘We’re really excited about being a part of something that has a visible impact on people’s lives. There are so many people going through detrimental situations that struggle to gain access to legal services. Being able to get involved and have an impact in this area is very important to us.’
The success of the walk in 2016 was record breaking, with lawyers raising more than £730,000. This year the goal is to improve on that, so any supporters are encouraged to visit the official London Legal Walk website and get donating.
