Landmark delivers remastered environmental reports to accelerate property transactions

Landmark new logoIn a milestone development, Landmark Information Group is today announcing a significant update to its environmental search reports as conveyancers face increased transaction pressure ahead of the March 2025 Stamp Duty deadline.

This latest release within Landmark’s residential product portfolio delivers powerful, data-rich reports, equipping conveyancers with the insights needed to confidently provide expert advice and make informed, data-driven decisions for their clients.

As conveyancers navigate a surge in transactions ahead of next year’s Stamp Duty deadline, the new and upgraded environmental reports are designed to streamline complex information, enabling faster processing and allowing conveyancers to handle more cases efficiently. These improvements will provide conveyancers with the confidence to advise clients on potential environmental risks more quickly.

Implementing user feedback has been central to developing Landmark’s enhanced product portfolio. When Landmark interviewed conveyancers, 60% of respondents believed it was important that all data searched was shown in maps and detailed tables. Further, 50% stated that they wanted one report to cover all risks with full analysis. Finally, 89% of users stated that they needed a report that could be understood by both conveyancers and homebuyers.

Key features of the remastered residential environmental risk reports include:

  • Streamlined design – A refreshed, user-friendly layout caters to time-pressed conveyancers, making it easy to access crucial information for faster, confident decision-making.
  • Market-first ‘no search required’ certification – For reports that include a coal screen, those indicating no or low coal risk now come with a ‘no search required’ certificate.
  • Homebuyer-friendly design – Meeting industry demand for buyer-oriented insights, the new reports present environmental risks in a format that’s easy for both conveyancers and their clients to understand.
  • Climate change reporting modules – Integrated into EnviroSearch and RiskView, these modules provide essential data on future climate risks alongside past and present environmental risks, addressing the growing need for clients to make environmentally informed decisions.

Chris Loaring, Managing Director of Landmark Legal, commented:
“We know from speaking to conveyancers that they are under immense pressure to get transactions processed as quickly – and accurately – as possible. Our remastered environmental reports have been designed with this in mind, providing clear, comprehensive data in a format that’s easy to use and understand. By streamlining access to critical environmental insights, we’re helping conveyancers save valuable time while delivering the confidence they need to advise their clients effectively.”
