Hull-based Hudgell Solicitors has once again been included in The Times ‘Best 250 Law Firms’ in England and Wales list – this year highlighting its human rights work as the firm secured its fourth successive inclusion.
The accolade follows impressive rankings and testimonials for the work of Hudgells’ legal teams in the leading Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners 2024 legal guides, which were each published earlier this month.
For the past three years Hudgells has been commended for work in supporting clients with personal injury and clinical negligence claims by The Times.
This is the first year its human rights work, led by a growing Civil Liberties department, has been commended for its achievements, which has included representing clients in high-profile inquests and at Public Inquires.
In the listings the Times highlights how Hudgells has helped more than 70 former subpostmasters to clear their names in the courts, having been wrongfully prosecuted when accused of theft and false accounting due to a glitch in the Post Office’s central computer system, Horizon.
It says Hudgells have been at ‘the forefront’ of the case, and also cites work representing more than 170 people injured in the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing, highlighting ‘packages of support, including dedicated rehabilitation services and financial assistance’ which have been provided.
