From Legal Futures’ Associates LexisNexis.
European law firm, Fieldfisher, has extended the firm’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, LexisOne™, from LexisNexis® Enterprise Solutions to its Belgium office in Brussels. This expansion is part of the phased roll out of LexisOne to Fieldfisher’s ever expanding international office network, to create a unified business environment across the law firm.
Fieldfisher has rationalised its business environment with the LexisOne deployment in the Brussels office. By using a single common platform, Fieldfisher has standardised and simplified business processes and established consistency in working practices between the London and Brussels offices. At the same time, LexisNexis has localised the functionality in LexisOne to ensure that the solution delivers against the regional requirements in Belgium – for example in finance, tax, regulatory reporting and HR.
This swift roll out of LexisOne to the 76 users in the Brussels office is representative of the significant business benefits and cost savings derived from a cloud-based approach to ERP technology adoption. Fieldfisher has not needed to make any investments in IT connectivity or infrastructure to roll out LexisOne to its Brussels office. The roll out was completed within a matter of weeks – including the data migration.
“The ease with which we have been able to roll out LexisOne to our Brussels office is indeed commendable,” Mike Giles, Finance Director at Fieldfisher, elaborated. “There’s been no disruption to our live platform in London. The roll out could not have gone smoother. This is the power of the LexisOne cloud model. This roll out is the first of several geographical extensions since going live with the core business last year. And with every day that goes by, we are seeing the power of the LexisOne solution and the benefits of the underlying Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform.”
LexisOne is a cloud-native SaaS solution, which is powered by Microsoft Dynamics®365 in Azure. LexisOne and Microsoft Dynamics 365 underpin Fieldfisher’s end-to-end business processes – from matter onboarding and time & expense capture through to billing & cash collection and HR.
“The collaborative and iterative implementation approach with Fieldfisher is delivering as we expected and more,” Andy Sparkes, General Manager at LexisNexis Enterprise Solutions, said. “In taking this approach, we have accelerated the implementation and are ensuring that the solution meets the collective needs of the entire firm as well as the local business requirements of the individual offices, today and in the future. And because we can easily deliver new updates, LexisOne becomes a highly responsive platform – meaning that Fieldfisher will always have access to the latest features and innovations from both LexisNexis and Microsoft. In the current business environment, the business flexibility and agility this will give the firm cannot be underestimated.”
