Following all the success and recognition that Express Solicitors has had in 2024, the personal injury law firm is rounding off the year by accepting The Princess Royal Training Award.

These prestigious awards, now in their 10th year, recognise outstanding commitment to learning and development.

They’re open to all organisations in the UK and Ireland regardless of size and sector and Express Solicitors has become the first law firm to be a recipient for its graduate training programme.

The firm was recognised for its excellent in-house training programme; a five-week graduate scheme that equips graduates with the skills they need to flourish in their roles.

The programme, which is enabling business growth of 20% per year, has so far been undertaken by 203 graduates. Thirty-six of these have progressed more quickly to a file-handling role or a training contract. As many as 70% of Litigation Assistants are already exceeding their work-in-progress fees from the most recent cohort.

Raana Lowery, Partner and Head of Professional Support at Express Solicitors, collected the award – along with Adele Greenough, Partner in our RTA team and Stephanie Warlow, Compliance Manager – at a ceremony at Goldsmiths Hall in London from HRH The Princess Royal herself.

Raana said: “We are so proud to have been given this accolade. We know our graduate scheme is excellent and we train so many amazing graduates, but to have the royal seal of approval from the City & Guilds Foundation is incredibly special. This accreditation stands for three years, giving us a standard of excellence to maintain and develop. The hard work continues.”

Express Solicitors CEO James Maxey added: “Express Solicitors has been pushing boundaries for years when it comes to developing our staff and providing excellent client care. It’s great that we can rival some other amazing organisations with our skills training both in and out of the legal sector.”

The Awards are run by the City & Guilds Foundation, the charitable arm of City & Guilds that supports over four million people a year through high impact social investment, recognition and advocacy programmes.

The award tops off what has been a very successful year for Express, having announced another record turnover, climbing 10 places to #70 in The Lawyer Top 200, being again recognised in Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners and rising to 13th in the Law Firm category of the UK Best Companies to work for.
