Synopsis

This webinar hosted by SIFA Professional in partnership with Aegon, will offer an exploration of the potential impact of the Labour Government’s Pensions Review and Pension Schemes Bill on the pensions landscape. We will take a look back at significant Budget announcements that are pertinent to this discussion. We will also include upcoming actions regarding the Advice Guidance Boundary Review and various initiatives from the FCA and finally new advisory opportunities that may emerge from these changes.

 

Learning objectives

By the end of this session, delegates will be able to:

  • Summarise the early phase of the new government and the pension policy drivers being reviewed, looking at the varying tax rates, rules and wider implications that could affect clients in the future.
  • Understand the regulatory impact of the Autumn budget announcement, identifying opportunities for advice.
  • Explore the parameters of the regulator, exploring future thoughts on areas of focus including auto enrolment rules, long term care, tax and interaction between advice / guidance.

Steven Cameron, UK Pensions Director

Bio 

Steven Cameron is Aegon UK’s Pensions Director, with responsibility for analysing and lobbying on proposed changes from regulators and Government regarding pensions, savings, regulation and the provision of advice. He is one of the industry’s top commentators on these topics across trade and consumer media. An actuary by profession, he has 40 years’ financial services experience. He is Chair of TISA’s Retirement Policy Committee and a member of their Strategy Committee and Financial Guidance Working Group.
