Dye & Durham: Climate Change, Planning and Flooding
28th April 2022 at 11:00 am - Online
Dye & Durham UK Insight & Data are delighted to bring you four brand-new webinars in association with Property Law UK. Barrister Tom Graham and Climate Analyst Hamish Wilkinson will join Ian Quayle in the second session in the series. Tom will explain, using real case studies, planning issues that could arise from climate change, and the medium to long-term flooding issues around the UK.
Recent data shows the number of households in the UK at substantial risk of flooding is due to increase by 24% over the next 30 years. Climate Analyst Hamish Wilkinson will explain how the Climate Report uses different scenarios and the benefit to the conveyancer.
The Climate Report uses flood data from the experts at Fathom, combined with climate change modelling and expertise from the Insight & Data team. The report identifies a property’s future exposure to hazards arising from climate change such as soil-related subsidence, extreme wind events, coastal erosion, plus river, coastal and surface water flooding. All these hazards are reported to increase in occurrence and severity as our climate changes, and could affect the ability to insure, enjoy, use, and potentially sell the property in the years to come. Join us to learn more.
After the talk Tom, Hamish and Ian will be available to answer your questions live. Everyone is welcome to this free talk, and we hope you take interesting facts and statistics away with you.
